Speaker: DAVID L. COX, Director of Geospatial Services, TrueScan 3D
The presentation will be on 3D Scanning to survey and produce a working model for assessing and developing plans on renovation projects. How a point cloud can be efficiently converted and used in structural modeling.
David currently leads 3D laser scanning and modeling at Truescan3D, a division of The Kleingers Group. Utilizing his 35 years of experience in land surveying, David directs all aspects of reality capture and building documentation within Truescan3D with an advanced understanding of control network geometry. Under David’s leadership, Truescan3D has experienced rapid growth in recent years and has scanned a number of notable projects including the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal, the planned sports complex at the former Champion Paper Mill, and Norton Audubon Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
In addition to his role with Truescan3D, David is also currently responsible for all facets of surveying and mapping at The Kleingers Group, including, but not limited to: topographic surveys, boundary surveys and resolution, construction staking, GPS services, and preparation of plats and descriptions. David supervises up to nine survey crews and office surveying personnel.
He is currently an adjunct faculty member of Cincinnati State Technical and Community College, a founding member of the Tri-State Surveyors Advisory Board and is a member of the Ohio State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.
